The Richmond Art Gallery is becoming a contemporary art institution of excellence contributing to the arts community on municipal, regional and national levels. This progress has been accelerated through the Board's strategic planning as it moves to realize its vision for the Gallery.
Specifically, the Board is improving its competencies in financial management and governance. We are advancing exhibition practice and educational programming. The Gallery Attendants Program is vital to the security of artwork on display and plays an important role in welcoming visitors to the Gallery.
Of course, these initiatives require funding. RAG’s extremely successful annual gala, Mirror Mirror, became our premier fundraiser in past years. In addition to this entertaining and financially successful event, the RAG must increase its funding through private philanthropy to support, upgrade, expand and add programs.
